Quick Start Prompts
Add suggested conversation starters for your visitors.
Quick Starts are pre-written messages that appear as clickable buttons when a user opens a conversation with your companion. They give users an easy way to jump into a conversation without having to think of what to say first.
What users see
When a user starts a new chat, they see a set of clickable prompts below the companion's greeting message. Each prompt shows a title and a description underneath it. Clicking a prompt doesn't just send the title as a message - it sends the response instruction you write for it (see below) to the companion, so you control exactly how the conversation kicks off.
Managing Prompts
Adding a Quick Start Prompt
- Click the + Add button in the Quick Starts section header
- A modal opens with three fields:
- Give it a name (the title users see and click, e.g. "What can you help me with?") - up to 200 characters
- Describe it briefly (the subtitle shown under the title, e.g. "See a few examples of what I can do") - up to 200 characters. Despite reading like an optional subtitle, this field is required; Save is disabled until it's filled in
- How should your companion respond? - the actual instruction sent to your companion when a user clicks this prompt (e.g. "Introduce yourself and share 3 ways you can help") - up to 5,000 characters. This is what shapes the conversation that follows, not the title or description
- Click Save to add the prompt
Editing a Prompt
Click the edit button on any existing prompt to open the editor. Update the title, description, or response instruction, then save.
Removing a Prompt
Click the remove button on any prompt to delete it immediately.
Limits
You can add up to 6 quick start prompts. A counter in the header (e.g., "2/6") shows how many you have used. When you reach the limit, the Add button disappears.
Tips for Great Prompts
- Cover common use cases - Think about the top reasons people will chat with your companion and make prompts for each
- Be specific, not vague - "Track my order" is better than "Help me"
- Use action words - Start with verbs like "Find," "Help," "Tell me about," "Compare"
- Add descriptions - A short description helps users understand what will happen when they click
- Keep titles short - They should be scannable at a glance

Quick start prompts are especially valuable for new users who do not know what your companion can do. They reduce the blank-page problem and guide people toward valuable interactions right from the start.
