Sharing Feedback

Aura has a built-in feedback form that makes it easy to share your thoughts with the team. You'll find it in the sidebar -- look for the feedback option near the bottom.

Opening the feedback dialog

Click the feedback button in the sidebar to open the feedback dialog. It appears as a centered overlay with a clean, focused layout.

Three categories

At the top of the form, you'll see three pill-shaped buttons to choose what kind of feedback you're sharing:

Feedback

For general thoughts, impressions, or comments. The placeholder text says "What's on your mind? Share any thoughts, ideas, or impressions..."

Suggestion

For feature requests or improvement ideas. The placeholder says "What would you like to see? Describe the feature or improvement..."

Bug Report

For reporting something that's broken or not working as expected. The placeholder says "What went wrong? Describe what happened and what you expected..."

Click any of the three pills to switch categories. The active category is highlighted in indigo.

Composing your message

Writing your message

Below the category pills is a text area where you type your message. Key details:

• Character limit: up to 5,000 characters
• A character counter appears in the bottom-right corner (e.g., "342/5000")
• The counter turns amber when you're close to the limit (4,500+) and red when you hit 5,000
• The text area expands as you type, up to 4 rows by default

Optional email (when not signed in)

If you're not signed in to an Aura account, an extra field appears below the text area:

• A label says "Want us to follow up?"
• An email input field with the placeholder "Your email (optional)"
• This is purely optional -- you can submit feedback without it

If you are signed in, this field doesn't appear because the team already knows how to reach you.

Submitting

The footer of the dialog has three buttons:

Discard

A red-outlined button on the left. Click it to close the dialog and throw away your message.

Send via Email

An indigo-outlined button that opens your default email app with your message pre-filled. This is handy if you want to attach screenshots or files, since the in-app form doesn't support attachments. The email subject is automatically set based on your chosen category (e.g., "Feedback for Aura", "Suggestion for Aura", or "Bug Report for Aura").

Submit

The primary indigo button on the right. Click it to send your feedback directly through Aura. This button is disabled until you've typed at least some text. While sending, it shows a spinner and "Sending..." text.

After submitting

Once your feedback is sent successfully:

• The form switches to a success view with a green checkmark animation
• A "Thank you!" heading and "Your feedback means a lot to us" message appear
• The dialog automatically closes after 2 seconds

If something goes wrong, an error message appears in red below the text area so you can try again.
