Switching Modes

Changed your mind about which mode to use? No problem. You can switch between Creator Mode and Explore Mode whenever you want, and it only takes a couple of clicks.

How to switch

Open the mode switcher

Right below the back button in the sidebar, you'll see the mode switcher - it shows your current mode's icon and name. Click it.

If the sidebar is collapsed, the mode switcher shrinks to a compact icon-only button showing just your current mode's icon; hover it to see the mode name as a tooltip. Click it to open the same menu.

A small menu opens listing both Creator ("Build & manage companions") and Explorer ("Chat & discover companions"), with a checkmark on whichever is active. Click the one you're not currently in.

You're switched!

Aura will update your mode immediately and redirect you:

Switching to Explorer - You'll land on the Explore page.
Switching to Creator - You'll land on your creator home.

While the switch is in progress, the mode switcher shows a small spinner in place of the mode icon (its label reads "Switching..." in the expanded form) and the button is disabled so you can't trigger another switch until the current one finishes.

What changes when you switch

When you switch modes, the features you see change - but your data stays the same.

Switching to Explorer

The sidebar's Discover section expands to show Explore, Collections, and History.
You lose access to the Dashboard, Billing, companion building tools, and Insights.
Your companions and data are still there - you just can't see the creator tools.

Switching to Creator

A Creator section appears in the sidebar with Profile and Dashboard. Wallet and Integrations become available from the profile menu.
You get access to companion building, analytics, insights, and billing.
You can still browse companions through your creator profile page and companion links.

Your data is safe

Switching modes doesn't delete anything. Your account, your companions, your collections, your chat history - everything stays exactly where it is. The only thing that changes is which set of tools and pages you can see.

You can switch as many times as you like. There's no limit and no waiting period.
