Creating a New Companion
How to start building a brand new companion from scratch.
Creating a companion on Aura takes just one click. The system sets up everything for you automatically so you can jump straight into customizing.
How to Create a Companion
Click the Create Button
From your Home page or anywhere in the app, click the Create button (the plus icon). Aura will instantly generate a brand-new companion for you.
Your Companion Is Auto-Generated
Every new companion starts with sensible defaults so it is ready to use right away:
- Name -- A randomly generated two-word name (like "Smart Navigator" or "Helpful Guide"). You can change this anytime.
- Description -- A randomly selected description explaining what the companion does. Change it to match your needs.
- Personality -- A default personality: knowledgeable, reliable, clear communicator. You will want to customize this.
- Greeting -- A friendly default opening message: "Hello! I'm ready to assist you. Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll do my best to help."
- Voice -- Set to "Nova" (the default voice). You can pick from 10 different voices.
- Language -- English by default.
- Skills -- All four skills are turned on: Smart Search, Rich Media, Multilingual, and Auto Close.
- Feedback -- Enabled by default, so users can rate conversations.
- Intelligence -- Premium tier (the best quality) is selected by default.
- Output -- Both audio and text are enabled.
- Idle Timeout -- Set to 30 seconds.
- Visibility -- Private by default. Nobody can see it until you make it public.
Start Customizing
You will be taken to the companion's settings page where you can start personalizing everything across the five tabs: Persona, Voice, Behaviour, Data, and Advanced.
New companions are private by default. They will not appear on your public profile or be accessible to anyone until you explicitly make them public. Take your time setting things up before going live.
Your First Companion
If this is the very first companion you have ever created on your account, Aura will recognize it as a milestone and may trigger an onboarding guide to walk you through the key settings. This only happens once, so follow along -- it is a great way to learn the ropes.
