Profile Completion & AI Improve
Track your setup progress and use AI to polish your content.
When you are editing a companion, Aura keeps track of how complete your setup is and gives you helpful nudges along the way. You will also find a handy AI tool that can improve any text you write.
Profile Completion Indicator
At the top-right of your companion's settings page, you will see a progress pill -- a small bar showing your completion percentage (0% to 100%) with a color that shifts from red to indigo as you fill things in.
How It Works
The indicator checks all the important fields across every tab and assigns each one a priority:
- Must fill -- Essential fields like name and description
- Interaction -- Fields that shape how users experience your companion (personality, greeting, prompts)
- Recommended -- Fields that make your companion better (avatar, knowledge, resources)
- Enrichment -- Nice-to-have extras (carousel images, custom fields, links)
Colored Dots on Tabs
You will notice small colored dots on the tab labels. These tell you at a glance where work is needed:

|---|---|
| Red | This tab has required fields that are still empty |
| Amber | This tab has validation errors that need fixing |
| Blue | This tab has recommended fields you have not filled yet |
Suggestions Carousel
Click the progress pill to open a popup with smart suggestions. Each suggestion tells you exactly what to do next (for example, "Add a face -- visual identity drives 3x more trust") and which tab to go to. Click a suggestion and it will take you right there.
The suggestions auto-rotate every 5 seconds, or you can navigate them manually with the arrow buttons and dot indicators.
Save and Discard
When you have made changes, the progress pill expands to show Discard and Save buttons right inline. You do not need to scroll anywhere -- just save or discard from wherever you are.
AI Text Improvement Tool
The AI Improve tool (shown as a sparkles button) is available throughout the companion editor. It helps you polish any piece of text -- descriptions, greetings, personality prompts, or anything else.
How to Use It
- Click the sparkles button to open the Improve panel
- Paste or type any text into the text area (up to 10,000 characters)
- Choose from one of the quick templates, or write your own instructions:

| Give me a quick summary | Condenses the text while keeping all the key points |
| Make it shorter | Significantly shortens the text while preserving the core meaning |
| Add more detail | Expands the text with more explanation and context |
| Fix my spelling & grammar | Corrects errors and improves sentence structure |
| Make it more professional | Rewrites the text in a polished, business-ready tone |
- Or type your own custom instructions in the "Have something specific in mind?" field and click Generate
- Review the AI-generated result
- Click Copy to copy the improved text to your clipboard
- You can also click Regenerate to try again with the same instructions
Tips
- The panel is draggable -- grab the header and move it anywhere on screen
- You can apply a template to the result of a previous template (for example, first "Add more detail" then "Make it more professional")
- The character counter at the bottom of the text area turns amber near the limit and red when you hit it
