Companion Profile
Configure your companion's identity, voice, behaviour, knowledge, and advanced settings.
The companion profile is where you shape everything about your AI companion. It is organized into six configuration tabs, each controlling a different aspect of how your companion looks, sounds, thinks, and interacts with users.
Edits are not saved automatically - a Save/Discard bar appears whenever you have unsaved changes, with ⌘S (or Ctrl+S) to save and Esc to discard. If you navigate away or your browser closes with unsaved edits, Aura keeps a local draft and offers to restore it the next time you open that companion. Use the profile completion indicator to track which sections still need attention.
Saving and Discarding
Clicking Save opens a confirmation dialog ("Are you sure you want to save changes?") before writing your edits. Clicking Discard also confirms first, then resets every field back to what was last saved and clears your local draft. ⌘S/Ctrl+S and Esc trigger the same two actions without needing the buttons, except while your cursor is inside a text field, textarea, dropdown, or any other editable control - there, Esc does nothing so it can't interrupt your typing.
If a validation error is blocking save (a required field is empty, or a field is over its limit), the Save button turns to a rose/error tint and is disabled, with a tooltip reading "Fix validation errors to save." A toast in the bottom-right corner lists every validation error across all tabs - name, about, avatar, voice, knowledge, links, and prompt issues - and stays open until you dismiss it. While a save is in progress, the button shows a spinner and reads "Saving...".
The one exception to "not saved automatically": if a guided product tour is running while you have unfilled edits on a profile page, finishing the tour silently saves your in-progress changes in the background (skipping the usual topic-generation step). This only happens during a tour - normal editing always requires an explicit Save.
