Audience Journey
Where your visitors are in their lifecycle across all companions.
The Audience Journey card maps out where your visitors are in their relationship with your companions. It shows how your audience composition breaks down by lifecycle stage, aggregated across your entire organization.
Lifecycle stages
Visitors move through stages as they interact with your companions over time.
| Stage | Who they are |
|---|---|
| New | First-time visitors who just started their first conversation. |
| Returning | Visitors who have come back after their initial interaction. |
| Engaged | Regular visitors who interact with your companions frequently. |
Chart views
You can toggle between two visualizations:
- Area chart — Shows how the composition of your audience shifts over time, with each stage stacked as a colored band. Great for spotting trends.
- Bar chart — Shows the stage breakdown for each time period as separate bars. Easier for comparing exact numbers between stages.
What to look for
- A growing New segment means your companions are reaching fresh audiences.
- A healthy Returning and Engaged base means visitors find your companions valuable enough to come back.
- If New visitors are high but Returning visitors stay flat, visitors may not be getting enough value from their first interaction to come back. Consider improving your companions' first-conversation experience.
- Watch for shifts over time. After launching a new companion or updating training content, you should see the impact reflected here.
