AI Guide Generation
Automatically generate guide steps from your uploaded resources using AI.
Instead of building every step manually, you can let AI generate a complete guide from your companion's uploaded resources. AI reads through your documents and videos, understands the content, and creates a structured workflow with appropriate steps and blocks.
How It Works
Click Generate with AI
From the Guides tab, click Generate with AI to open the generation dialog.
Select Resources
Choose which of your companion's resources the AI should use as source material. You can select documents and videos -- images are not supported for generation since the AI needs text or transcript content to work from.
Specify a Topic
Enter a topic or goal for the guide. For example, "How to reset your password" or "Getting started with the dashboard". The topic tells the AI what to focus on when building the steps.
Generate
Click generate and the AI will analyze your selected resources and create a structured guide with steps and blocks. This may take a moment depending on the amount of source material.
Review and Edit
Once the guide is generated, review it in the editor. You can modify any step, add or remove blocks, adjust branching, and reorganize the flow. The generated guide is a starting point -- refine it to match your exact needs.
Requirements
- Your companion must have at least one processed resource (document or video) available. Resources that are still processing or have failed processing cannot be used.
- Only documents and videos are supported. Images do not contain the structured content AI needs to generate meaningful workflow steps.
AI generation works best when your resources are well-organized and cover the topic thoroughly. The more relevant content the AI has to work with, the better the generated guide will be.
After Generation
The generated guide is created in Draft status, just like a manually created guide. From here, you can:
- Edit steps and blocks to fine-tune the content
- Add question blocks for branching if the AI did not include them
- Add action blocks for escalation points
- Preview the guide with the runner to check the flow
- Publish it when you are satisfied with the result
AI-generated guides are fully editable. Think of them as a first draft that saves you the work of starting from scratch. You have full control to reshape the guide however you like.
