Shared Guide Page
What visitors see when opening a publicly shared guide link.
When a creator shares a guide with you via a public link, clicking it takes you to the shared guide page. This is a public page - you don't need an Aura account to view it.
What you'll see
While the guide loads, you'll see a brief loading indicator. Once it's ready, the page shows the guide runner - the same interactive, step-by-step player creators use to preview guides - so you can:
- Navigate through each step of the guide
- Answer question blocks and follow the branching path
- Submit tickets via action blocks (if configured)
- View all media blocks (images, videos, documents)
At the end of the guide, you're prompted to leave feedback - a star rating and an optional comment.
Password-protected links
If the creator protected the link with a password, you'll be asked to enter it before the guide loads. The guide's name and description are shown above the password field so you know what you're about to unlock. An incorrect password shows an inline error and lets you try again.
If the link doesn't work
A shared guide link only works while all of the following are true: the creator has public sharing turned on for that guide, the guide is published (not a draft), and - if the creator set an expiration date - that date hasn't passed yet. If any of these isn't the case, you'll see one of two messages instead of the guide:
- Link Expired - the link had an expiration date that has passed. Ask the creator for an updated link.
- Guide Not Found - the link is invalid, or the guide has been unpublished or had public sharing turned off.
If you enjoy a shared guide, consider signing up for an Aura account to explore more companions and guides on Aura.
