Training Tokens
Track how many tokens have been consumed processing your resources.
The Training Tokens card shows how many tokens have been used to process your companion's resources into knowledge that it can use in conversations.
What You See
- Progress bar -- fills as you approach your token limit
- Used / Limit -- the exact number of tokens consumed and your total allowance
- Remaining -- how many tokens you have left
The progress bar uses the same color-coding as Storage:
| Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Default | You are well within your limit |
| Amber | You have used 75% or more of your tokens |
| Red | You have used 90% or more of your tokens |
What Consumes Training Tokens
Every type of resource you upload consumes training tokens when it is processed:
- Documents -- PDFs, text files, and other written content
- Videos -- transcripts and metadata are extracted and processed
- Images -- visual content is analyzed and described
How to Use This
- Deleting a resource frees up the tokens it consumed, so you can reclaim space by removing outdated content.
- Larger and more complex files consume more tokens. A long PDF will use more tokens than a short text file.
- If you are approaching your limit, prioritize keeping the resources that have the most impact on your companion's performance.
