Sending Images

Attach images to your chat messages so a companion can see what you're talking about.

Alongside typing and voice, you can attach images directly to a chat message. This is useful when it's easier to show a companion something than to describe it in words.

Starting a session first

Image attachments are only available once a conversation has actually started. Before you've sent your first message or started a call, there's no attach option on the landing screen — start chatting first, then attach images to any message from there.

Attaching an image

There are three ways to add an image to a message:

  • Attach button — Click the image icon next to the microphone button in the input bar to open your file picker and choose one or more images.
  • Paste from clipboard — Copy an image (like a screenshot) and paste it into the input bar with Cmd/Ctrl + V. It attaches immediately.
  • Drag and drop — Drag an image file from your desktop or another window and drop it onto the input card. A dashed border appears while you're dragging over it to show it's ready to receive the file.

Once added, each image shows up as a thumbnail above the text field, with a spinner while it uploads and a small X button to remove it before you send.

Limits

  • Up to 5 images per message. Once you've attached the maximum, the attach button is disabled and you'll get a warning if you try to add more.
  • 20MB per image. Larger files are skipped with a warning.
  • Any image file your browser recognizes as an image will be accepted — images are automatically optimized and compressed before your message is sent, so you don't need to resize anything yourself.

If an image fails to upload, it's removed automatically and you'll see a toast asking you to try attaching it again. A failed upload never blocks the rest of your message — any text or other successfully attached images still send normally.

Viewing an attached image

Click a thumbnail before sending to open it larger in a lightbox. Click anywhere outside the image, or the close button, to dismiss it.

Sending

Attached images are sent together with whatever text you've typed — you can send images with or without accompanying text. Once sent, the input bar clears and the previews reset, ready for your next message.
