Credit Consumption
View your companion's credit usage over time.
The Credit Consumption & Requests chart shows how this companion is spending credits over time. It is the main chart on the Usage tab and helps you understand cost patterns and spot unexpected spikes.
What uses credits
Credits are consumed by three types of activity:
- Chat -- Every conversation between a visitor and your companion uses credits. This is usually the largest category.
- Document Processing -- When you upload and process a PDF or other document, credits are used to extract and structure the content.
- Video Processing -- Processing video files (extracting transcripts, understanding content) also consumes credits.
Each type is shown in a different color on the chart so you can see the breakdown at a glance.
Reading the chart
The chart automatically adjusts its time grouping based on your selected date range:
- 2 days or less -- grouped by hour
- Up to 60 days -- grouped by day (daily)
- Up to a year -- grouped by week (weekly)
- Longer ranges -- grouped by month (monthly)
Hover over any point on the chart to see a detailed tooltip with the exact credit amount and a breakdown by activity type for that time period.
Chart styles
Switch between three chart styles using the icons in the top-right corner:
- Area chart -- Filled area, good for seeing overall volume
- Bar chart -- Stacked bars for comparing activity types
- Line chart -- Clean lines for trend spotting
Changing the date range
Click the date button in the chart header to pick a different time period. The chart will reload with data for your selection.
Conversations that use a premium intelligence tier consume more credits per message than standard conversations. If you notice a credit spike, check whether your companion is set to a higher-tier model in the Advanced tab.
This chart shows credits for this companion only. To see credit usage across all your companions, check the Dashboard Usage tab.
