Usage Chart
See how your credit consumption trends over time.
The Credit Consumption & Requests chart at the bottom of the Dashboard's Usage tab shows how your credits are being spent across all companions over time. This is the account-wide version of the chart -- it covers every companion, not just one.
What it shows
The chart plots credit usage on a timeline, broken down by activity type:
- Chat (purple) -- Credits used for conversations between visitors and your companions. This is typically the largest category.
- Document Processing (green) -- Credits used when processing uploaded documents (PDFs, etc.).
- Video Processing (yellow) -- Credits used when processing video files.
- Others (gray) -- Any other credit-consuming activities.
Each category gets its own color so you can see at a glance what is driving your credit usage.
Time grouping
The chart automatically adjusts based on your selected date range:
- 2 days or less -- grouped by hour
- Up to 60 days -- daily view
- Up to a year -- weekly view
- Longer ranges -- monthly view
Chart styles
Switch between three views using the icons in the chart header:
- Area chart -- Filled areas stacked on top of each other, good for seeing total volume and relative proportions.
- Bar chart -- Stacked bars, good for comparing specific days or weeks.
- Line chart -- Clean lines for each category, good for spotting individual trends.
Tooltip details
Hover over any point on the chart to see a detailed breakdown for that time period. The tooltip shows:
- The date or date range
- Total credits consumed
- A per-category breakdown with counts and icons
Changing the date range
Click the date button in the chart header to select a different time period.
Tips for reading the chart
- Steady credit usage -- Indicates consistent visitor traffic. Good sign of reliable engagement.
- Spikes -- Could mean a spike in visitor traffic, or a batch of document/video processing jobs. Check the color to see which category caused the spike.
- Sudden drops -- Might mean visitors are not finding your companions (check engagement metrics) or that credit-consuming features were paused.
- High processing costs -- If document or video processing is taking a large share, consider whether all those resources are necessary or if some can be consolidated.
To see credit usage for just one companion, go to that companion's Insights Usage tab instead.
