Training Tokens

Track how many training tokens your companion has consumed.

The Training Tokens card shows how many tokens have been used to process your companion's resources into knowledge it can use during conversations.

What are training tokens?

When you upload a document, video, or other resource to your companion, Aura processes that file to extract and understand its content. This processing step -- turning raw files into structured knowledge your companion can draw on -- uses training tokens.

Think of training tokens as a measure of how much processing power has gone into teaching your companion. A short PDF uses fewer tokens than a long video transcript.

Reading the card

The card shows:

  • Usage bar -- A progress bar showing how many training tokens have been used out of your limit. Like storage, the bar changes color: indigo for normal, amber above 75%, and red above 90%.
  • Used / Limit -- The exact token count in a readable format (e.g., "45.2K of 100K").
  • Remaining -- How many tokens you have left.
  • Percentage ring -- A circular indicator showing the percentage at a glance.

What happens at the limit

When you reach your training token limit, you will not be able to process new resources until you either:

  • Delete and re-upload resources (deleting a resource frees its tokens)
  • Upgrade your plan to get a higher token allowance

Training tokens are consumed during initial processing and when you reprocess a resource (for example, to re-run OCR with a different language). Regular conversations with visitors do not consume training tokens -- those use credits instead.
