Speech Speed
Control how fast or slow your companion speaks.
The Speaking Speed slider in the Pace section lets you control how quickly your companion talks during audio conversations.
The Slider
The speed slider ranges from 0.7x (slow) to 1.3x (fast), with 1.0x as the default normal speed. You can adjust in increments of 0.1.
| Speed | Feel |
|---|---|
| 0.7x | Slow and deliberate. Great for detailed explanations or when your audience might need extra time to process information. |
| 0.8x | Slightly slower than normal. Comfortable for listening to complex topics. |
| 0.9x | Just a touch below normal. Feels relaxed and unhurried. |
| 1.0x | Normal speed. Natural and conversational -- the default. |
| 1.1x | Slightly faster. Feels efficient without being rushed. |
| 1.2x | Quick. Good for companions that need to feel snappy and energetic. |
| 1.3x | Fast. Best for brief, punchy interactions where speed matters. |
How to Adjust
- Go to the Voice tab
- Find the Speaking Speed slider in the Pace section
- Drag the slider left (slower) or right (faster)
- The current speed is shown next to the label (e.g., "Speaking Speed (1.0x)")
Three marker labels appear below the slider to help orient you: Slow on the left, Normal in the middle, and Fast on the right.
Use the Test mode to listen to your companion at different speeds before settling on one. What feels right depends on the voice you have chosen and the type of content your companion delivers.
