Pause Sensitivity

Set how long your companion waits before responding.

Reply Timing (in the Pace section) controls how your companion decides when you have finished talking and it is time to respond. This is about the pause between when you stop speaking and when the companion starts replying.

The Three Options

You can choose between three modes by clicking the corresponding button:

Patient

"Gives you time to finish your thought before responding."

Your companion waits longer before jumping in. This is ideal when:

  • Your users might pause to think mid-sentence
  • The topics are complex and people need time to formulate their questions
  • You want the conversation to feel relaxed and unhurried

Balanced

"Natural pace -- pauses just enough before replying."

This is the default setting. The companion waits a natural amount of time -- not too quick, not too slow. Good for most use cases.

Responsive

"Jumps in quickly -- great for fast back-and-forth."

Your companion replies almost immediately after you stop talking. Best for:

  • Quick Q&A sessions
  • Customer support where speed matters
  • Energetic, fast-paced conversations

If your companion seems to cut people off mid-sentence, try switching to Patient or Balanced. If it feels like there is an awkward silence before every reply, try Responsive.
