Name & About
Choose a name and write a description for your companion.
The Identity section of the Persona tab is where you give your companion a name and description. These two fields are the most fundamental part of your companion's identity.
Name
The name is what users will see and call your companion. It appears:
- On the companion card on your Home page
- At the top of the chat screen when users interact with it
- In the share modal when you share the companion
- In search results when people discover your companion
Tips for a Good Name
- Keep it short and memorable (up to 100 characters)
- Make it reflect what the companion does (e.g., "Order Helper" for a customer support companion)
- Avoid generic names -- something unique helps your companion stand out
When you first create a companion, it gets a randomly generated name like "Smart Navigator" or "Helpful Guide." You should change this to something that fits your brand or use case.
Description (About)
The description explains what your companion is built to do. It appears on the companion card below the avatar and helps visitors decide whether to start a chat.
Tips for a Good Description
- Explain the companion's purpose clearly (e.g., "A friendly customer support companion for our online store. Helps users with orders, returns, and product questions.")
- Keep it natural and conversational
- Up to 1,000 characters, but the card view will only show the first few lines
Both the name and description are used by the Profile Completion indicator to track your setup progress. Leaving the auto-generated defaults will show up as incomplete fields.
