WebApp

The WebApp is Aura itself — no setup, no code, nothing to connect. The moment you create and publish a companion, it's reachable on Aura's own website.

Where people find it

• Explore — if your companion is public and your organization has an active, non-free, non-trial subscription, it's listed for anyone to discover. See Discovering Companions.
• Your public profile — /u/{your-handle} lists all of your public companions. See Public Profile.
• A direct share link — works regardless of whether the companion is listed publicly, governed by the visibility and invite rules in Sharing Your Companion.

What makes it different from the other channels

The Widget actually shares most of the same chat interface as the WebApp — quick-start prompts, source citations with figures, image attachments, and voice all work the same way in both, since they're built from the same components. What's genuinely exclusive to the WebApp:

• The resource viewer — clicking a cited source opens it in Aura's built-in document/video/image viewer. The widget doesn't have this; a cited source just isn't openable the same way.
• Signed-in features — chat history, collections, saving a companion for later, and the Share button all require the full Aura interface. None of this exists on the widget, WhatsApp, or Slack.
• Guides run at full strength. A guide can appear and be interacted with inline on the widget too, but some of its session-awareness (like pausing the inactivity timer while a guide is active) only works on the WebApp.

Guests can chat without an account on the WebApp by default; see Starting a Conversation. A creator can require sign-in before chatting from the companion's Advanced tab.
