Slack
Let your team DM or @mention companions inside a connected Slack workspace.
The Slack integration puts your companions inside a Slack workspace — teammates can DM the Aura bot directly or @mention it in any channel it's been added to.
There's no dedicated Slack settings page; everything happens from one card on the Integrations page (open your profile menu and click Integrations).
Connecting
Click Connect
On the Integrations page, find the Slack card and click Connect. This redirects you into Slack's OAuth flow.
Authorize in Slack
Approve the request in Slack. You'll be sent back to Aura once it's done.
Confirm the workspace
Once connected, the card shows the name of the Slack workspace that's now linked.
To disconnect, click Disconnect on the card and confirm. Slack warns you before disconnecting: your assistants will stop responding in Slack channels until reconnected.
The end-user experience
- First contact — the first time someone DMs the bot or @mentions it, they're shown a dropdown to choose which companion they want to talk to.
- Assistant choice is remembered per user, not per thread. Once someone picks a companion, that choice sticks with them across DMs and mentions — it isn't scoped to a single conversation thread.
- DMs are a flat, ongoing conversation. @mentions in a channel get replies posted in-thread, so the channel itself stays uncluttered.
- The same "menu" keyword works here as on WhatsApp, to switch companions.
- Guided walkthroughs work the same way as on WhatsApp — step-by-step, with navigation buttons instead of a numbered list.
- Media the companion sends comes through as a plain URL, which Slack automatically unfurls into a preview.
The same escalation behavior applies here as on WhatsApp: if a conversation needs a human, a ticket is raised on your primary CRM and the companion goes silent on that conversation for 24 hours. See CRMs for how that's wired up.
