User Traffic

Visitor activity across all your companions.

The User Traffic section gives you a high-level view of how much traffic your companions are generating together. It displays four summary cards, each highlighting a different dimension of visitor activity across your entire organization.

The four traffic metrics

Unique Users

The number of distinct visitors who have visited any of your companions. Each person is counted once, regardless of how many companions they visited or how many times they came back.

Active Users

The number of visitors who actually engaged — meaning they started a chat or used a guide. This is a subset of your unique users. A large gap between unique users and active users may mean visitors are landing on your companions but not finding a reason to interact.

Total Visits

The total number of page visits across all your companions, including repeat visits from the same person. This tells you how much raw traffic your companions are receiving.

Total Chats

The total number of chat sessions started across all companions. This is the most direct measure of how many conversations your companions are driving.

Why this matters

  • Unique users vs. active users — if you have plenty of unique visitors but few active ones, your companions may need better introductions or clearer calls to action to encourage engagement.
  • Total visits vs. total chats — a high visit count with a low chat count suggests visitors are browsing but not starting conversations. Consider whether your companions make it easy and inviting to begin a chat.
  • Use these numbers alongside Companion Performance to see which companions are pulling the most weight.
