Engagement Metrics
Summary cards showing sessions, visitor reach, and retention.
At the top of the Dashboard's Engagement tab, three summary cards give you a quick pulse on visitor activity across all your companions.
User Engagement card
This card shows overall session activity for your account.
- Total sessions -- The big number at the top. This is the total number of chat sessions across all your companions during the selected time period.
- Session sparkline -- A small trend line below the number showing how session volume changed over time. Look for upward trends (more activity) or dips (less activity).
- Engagement Time -- Total time visitors spent chatting with your companions, across all sessions combined.
- Avg Rating -- The average star rating across all conversations. Shown as a number out of 5 with a star icon.
- Avg Duration -- The average length of a single session across all companions.
Click the date button in the top-right corner of this card to change the time period.
Visitor Traffic card
This card shows how many people are visiting your companions.
- Unique visitors -- The big number at the top. This counts each person only once, even if they visited multiple companions or came back several times.
- Visitor sparkline -- A trend line showing how unique visitor volume changed over time.
- Total Visits -- The total number of page views across all your companions (one person visiting three times counts as three visits).
- Org Visits -- Visits to your organization profile page specifically (your Home page).
- Companions -- How many of your companions received at least one visit during the period.
Engagement Rate card
This card shows what percentage of your visitors actually engaged (started a conversation) rather than just visiting.
- Rate percentage -- The big number, shown as a percentage. For example, "65%" means 65 out of every 100 visitors started a conversation.
- Donut chart -- A visual ring showing the split between engaged visitors (who chatted) and passive visitors (who only viewed).
- Active users -- The count of visitors who started at least one conversation.
- Passive visitors -- The count of visitors who viewed your companion's page but did not start chatting.
A high engagement rate means visitors are finding your companions compelling enough to interact with. A low rate might mean your companion's greeting, description, or quick-start prompts could use improvement to encourage visitors to start chatting.
The Engagement card has its own date range, separate from the visitor table below. This lets you look at summary metrics for one time period while browsing visitor details for another.
