Reset Password

Set a new password using your reset link.

After clicking the reset link from your email, you'll land on this page. It verifies your link, lets you pick a new password, and signs you back in.

When the page loads, it automatically validates your reset link. You'll see a brief "Verifying your link..." spinner while this happens. Three outcomes are possible:

  • Valid link -- the password form appears and you can set a new password.
  • Invalid link -- the link is broken, already used, or missing required information. You'll see a "Link Not Valid" message with a button to Request a New Link.
  • Expired link -- reset links expire after 15 minutes for security. You'll see a "Link Expired" message with a button to Request a New Link.

The countdown timer

When your link is valid, a countdown timer appears at the top of the form showing how much time you have left before the link expires. The timer displays in MM:SS format. When less than a minute remains, it turns orange to warn you. If the timer reaches zero while you're still on the page, it switches to the expired state automatically.

Setting your new password

The form has two fields:

New Password

Type your new password here. As you type, two things appear:

  • Strength indicator -- a row of five bars that fill up and change color as your password gets stronger:
    • Red = Weak
    • Orange = Fair
    • Yellow = Good
    • Green = Strong
  • Requirements checklist -- five individual rules, each with a circle that turns green with a checkmark when met:
    • At least 8 characters
    • One uppercase letter
    • One lowercase letter
    • One number
    • One special character

Confirm Password

Re-enter your new password. The field border turns green with a "Passwords match" message when they match, or red with "Passwords do not match" when they don't.

Submitting

The Reset Password button is disabled until all five password rules pass and both passwords match. Once you click it, you'll see a brief loading state, and then:

  • Success -- a green checkmark appears with "Password Reset!" and a Sign In Now button. Click it to sign in immediately with your new password.
  • Same password -- if you entered your current password as the new one, you'll see a notice saying "This is your current password" with a Sign In Instead button so you can just log in directly.
  • Error -- if something went wrong, an error message appears at the top of the form.

Remember, your reset link expires after 15 minutes. If you run out of time, go back to the sign-in page and request a new one.
