Creating a Collection

How to create a new collection with a custom name, icon, and color.

Creating a collection gives you a place to organize companions around a theme, project, or whatever you like.

How to create a collection

Open the Collections page

Go to Collections from the sidebar. If you don't have any collections yet, you'll see a prompt to create your first one. Otherwise, click the + New button in the toolbar at the top.

Name your collection

A dialog will appear with a Name field at the top. Type a name — something like "Favorites", "Research", or "Fun Stuff". Names can be up to 50 characters.

You can also add an optional Description (up to 200 characters) to remind yourself what the collection is for.

Pick an icon

Below the name, you'll see a grid of icons to choose from. There are 35 options including star, heart, sparkles, brain, crown, rocket, lightbulb, briefcase, trophy, globe, leaf, target, and many more.

By default you see the first 14 icons. Click Show more to reveal the full set. Click an icon to select it — click it again to deselect. Icons are optional.

Choose a color

Pick a color to give your collection a visual identity. You have three options:

  • Preset swatches — Seven colors to choose from: Blue, Violet, Pink, Red, Orange, Amber, and Green.
  • Color picker — Click the pipette button to open your system's color picker for any custom color.
  • Hex code — Type a hex color code directly (e.g., abcabc).

A live preview shows the selected color as you pick. Color is optional — if you skip it, a default violet is used.

Click Create

Hit the Create button and your new collection appears in the toolbar. You're ready to start adding companions to it.

You can edit your collection's name, icon, color, and description at any time. See Managing Collections.
