Share Modal
Share companions and profiles with links, QR codes, invites, and social sharing.
The Share Modal is the one place to manage how anything shareable in Aura - a companion, your public profile, or another shareable page - gets out into the world. It handles shareable links and email invites side by side, not as two separate tools. You'll find its trigger throughout Aura, most commonly the Share button on a companion's header or action menu.
Visibility
When you open the Share Modal for something you own, you'll see a visibility capsule at the top. Click it to choose between three states:
- Public - listed on Explore and open to everyone. The QR code, social buttons, and copy link all work normally.
- Private - not publicly listed, but anyone with an active share link or email invite can still find and use it.
- None - not shared with anyone. Switching to None revokes every active link and invite at once, though nothing is deleted - switch back to Private to see and manage them again.
Visibility isn't stored as a simple public/private flag - it's derived from the underlying state of your links and invites (any active one means Private; a public flag means Public; nothing active means None), and changes take effect immediately, including in any other tab you have the same page open in.
The visibility capsule only appears when you own the content being shared. When viewing something shared with you, you'll see only the access you were personally granted.
What's inside the modal
The content shown adapts to the current visibility.
Public: QR code, social sharing, and a copy link
- QR code - scannable, pointed at the share link. Click Download to save it as a PNG image - there's no separate "copy image" action, just the download.
- Social sharing buttons - one click each for WhatsApp, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Email, every one pre-filled with the link (and title, where the platform supports it). Buttons are styled with each platform's brand color.
- Copy link - copies the URL, with a brief checkmark to confirm. An Open button (external-link icon) opens the shared page in a new tab.
Private: links and invites, together
Two tabs sit side by side:
Private Links
- Create as many links as you want. Each shows a status badge (Active / Expired / Revoked), its token, and expiry.
- Per link: copy, change expiry (a date/time picker - no fixed-duration presets, just a "Never expires" shortcut and a 30-days-out suggestion when you open the editor), revoke or reactivate, and permanently delete.
- Select several links to bulk revoke or delete.
People with access
- The owner's own row is always shown at the top, for reference - it has no actions.
- Invite people by email: type an address and press Enter, comma, space, or Tab to add it as a chip, add as many as you like, then send them all together.
- Per invite: resend, revoke, re-invite (after revoke or expiry), or delete.
- Select several invites to bulk resend, revoke, or delete - or use Copy all emails to grab every active invitee's address at once.
None: an empty state
You'll see quick actions to go Public or switch straight to Private.
Re-sharing what was shared with you
If you received access to something private through a share link (not an invite), you can pass that same link along to others yourself - the modal shows you the same QR code and social options an owner would see. Access granted purely by email invite has nothing to re-share; you'll see a note that you have access through an invite instead.
Only members of the owning organization can manage visibility, links, and invites for something they own. This is checked strictly - your organization has to match the content's owning organization, not just a general sense of "you made this."
