Auto-Recharge

Automatically add credits when your balance gets low.

Auto-recharge keeps your companions running without interruption. When your credit balance drops below a threshold you set, Aura automatically charges your saved payment method and adds credits to your account.

Auto-recharge is only available on paid plans. Free plan users need to upgrade first.

How It Works

  1. You set a threshold — the credit level that triggers a recharge.
  2. You set a recharge amount — the dollar amount to charge each time.
  3. When your balance drops below the threshold after any credit deduction, Aura automatically charges your payment method and adds credits.

There is a 60-second cooldown between recharges to prevent rapid-fire charges during heavy usage.

Enabling Auto-Recharge

Open Your Wallet

Go to your Wallet and look at the balance card on the Overview tab.

Toggle Auto-Recharge On

At the bottom of the balance card, you will see a toggle labeled "Turn on auto-recharge". Click the toggle to open the configuration dialog.

Set Your Threshold

Enter the credit level that should trigger a recharge. This is the "when balance drops below" value.

The maximum threshold is 10% of your plan's monthly credits. For example, if your plan includes 10,000 monthly credits, you can set the threshold up to 1,000 credits.

Set Your Recharge Amount

Enter the dollar amount to charge each time auto-recharge triggers. The minimum is $5 and the maximum is $2,000.

A preview will show you exactly how many credits you will receive, including any bonus credits from your plan's top-up discount.

Save

Click Save to activate auto-recharge. You will see a confirmation on the balance card showing your settings.

When Auto-Recharge Is Active

Once enabled, the balance card shows a summary:

Reloads X credits when balance drops below Y

A gear icon next to the toggle lets you edit your settings at any time.

Disabling Auto-Recharge

Click the toggle on the balance card to turn auto-recharge off instantly. No dialog is needed — it disables immediately.

Automatic Disabling

Auto-recharge will be automatically disabled in these situations:

  • Subscription cancelled — if your subscription ends or is cancelled, auto-recharge turns off.
  • Plan downgrade — if you switch to a plan where your current threshold exceeds 10% of the new plan's monthly credits, auto-recharge is disabled and you receive a notification to reconfigure.
  • Payment failure — if the charge to your payment method fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), auto-recharge is disabled and you receive a warning notification.

In all cases, you will see a notification explaining why auto-recharge was turned off.

Payment Method

Auto-recharge uses the default payment method on your Stripe billing account. If no payment method is saved, you will be prompted to add one through the billing portal before you can enable auto-recharge.

Credit Bonuses

If your subscription plan includes a top-up discount (common on yearly plans), the bonus is applied automatically to auto-recharge credits — just like manual top-ups. The preview in the configuration dialog shows the exact breakdown of base credits plus bonus.
